Applying to the Roehampton Fighting Fund v1.2
The UCU National scheme provides support for strikers after the initial day on strike, and can be accessed here: https://ucu.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/429/~/ucu-fighting-fund-2019.
The Local Roehampton Fighting Fund will supplement the UCU National scheme but is not intended to replace it. The Local Fighting Fund will prioritise support in the days 1-2 of the strike. The Local Fighting Fund is available to all staff. However, the Local Fighting Fund will initially prioritise those in precarious, low paid roles. This is in line with UCU national and local guidelines.
The Local Fighting Fund can provide £75 per day for members earning below £30,000 gross per annum, and up to £50 per day for members earning above £30,000 gross per annum. There is an overall limit of £150 for total claims to the Local Fighting Fund.
Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
To apply:
· Please complete the Fighting Fund Application Form.
· You will need to supply proof of loss of income (please see details on the application form). This is necessary because the UCU will audit this process and we will need a paper trail. Good copies sent as pictures or PDF files are fine, but we need to be able to show our Auditors that we have clear evidence that pay has been lost and that original documents are identifiable from what we receive. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
· Email the completed form and the evidence of loss of income to the branch treasurer (Isabel.Magalhaes@roehampton.ac.uk). Please identify it as “Fighting Fund”.
· Applications must be received by 1st March 2022. Funds are limited.
