Template Letter to opt out of Lecture Recording

I write in relation to your email request to complete a spreadsheet about whether I wish all my teaching sessions to be recorded.  I note that if I fill the spreadsheet in, I am automatically deemed to have given permission to be recorded even if I wish to state that I do not intend to record my sessions. I am happy to participate in departmental planning but for the avoidance of doubt, I do not give my permission to be recorded, nor am I prepared to assign my rights in this material to the university.

I am extremely concerned about the university’s current position on recording teaching sessions and for the time being I am minded not to record any sessions until my concerns are addressed in a new policy agreed by UCU.

I reserve the right to change my mind in future.
